I came across this article a few days ago as I was doing my daily news search. Stories like these are plentiful: a loving couple adopts a child, who then becomes a part of their family. The fact that the couple is a gay one should not determine the outcome of this story. Love is love. Simple. Love is the most pure and simple emotion there is. It’s everything surrounding it —politics, fear, hate, lies, mistrust— that sullies it. In my idealistic mind, a marriage is about love between two consenting adults. As the battle to allow same sex couples to marry (I have issues with the term gay marriage) arrives at the Supreme Court, that is all that should matter.
